Learning is for life, and St. Helen’s College aims to inspire a love of learning in our pupils. To do this, we employ expert teachers for whom education of young children is a vocation as well as a profession, offer a rigorous, rich and diverse curriculum and teach pupils to become self-motivated, effective, self-aware learners in a disciplined, harmonious and inspiring environment.

A variety of teaching and learning methods are used: many are traditional, tried and tested, but we also use newer, very effective approaches, some based on ICT, others on research in learning theory. Specialist teaching is widely used and subject specialists inspire children through their passion for their subjects. Staff are continually assessing, honing and developing their own teaching practice.
