Embedding A Mindful Culture
Posted on: 09/06/2023
Tomorrow I am presenting at a conference speaking to other educators and leaders about ‘Embedding a mindful culture in your school’. I am passionate about aspects of wellbeing for pupils and staff and it is incredibly heartwarming when we have feedback from parents who notice the impact of how our pastoral care and ‘mindful’ culture impacts upon them as a family. I am grateful to one of our families who has contributed to my presentation tomorrow by participating in a short video. You can see their contribution in my presentation which is linked here. You will also be taken through a mindful practice by their daughter Arshia (our Head Girl) who has written this meditation practice as our ‘Mindfulness Amabassador’. Arshia is currently working with another pupil in Year 3, Gurdaya, who is also eager to spread her mindful awareness with her peers.
My talk/workshop tomorrow is not only about mindfulness but also about how we embed a culture of wellbeing and I hope that some of you may enjoy the slides and it gives you all food for thought as to how your employer looks after you as an employee.
Mr. and Mrs. Crehan are committed to ensuring that all the staff and pupils at St. Helen’s College are looked after well to ensure that the school continues to flourish. I for one certainly feel that, as a community, we are unique and we look out for each other and all strive to do our best.
Have you found your ‘ikigai’?
Happy weekend everyone!
