Coming Home - Head's Blog

Some of the pupils noted that I was not very visible around school this week and they are absolutely correct as I have had a very busy week indeed updating my own professional training but also conducting an inspection.

Driving home last night after a very intense three days away, I felt that anticipation and excitement of ‘coming home’.  Not only was I looking forward to seeing my own family but I also acknowledged that I was so excited to return to my St. Helen’s College ‘home’.

On Tuesday this week I attended a day of training for Designated Safeguarding Leads at another local Independent School, along with Mrs. Stark, Mrs. Hunt and Mr. Crehan. It is our responsibility to keep abreast of new legislation and reflect on all our procedures and policies to enable us to carry out our duty of care of the safety of your children.

On Tuesday evening I joined another two inspectors as part of an inspection team to conduct a school inspection on behalf of ISI (The Independent Schools Inspectorate).

Visiting other schools is always interesting but this week for me it has been so rewarding to be able to return ‘home’ to our school feeling exceptionally proud of each and every one of our exceptional school community!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Drummond
